This year, we have a great schedule of events planned for this year’s Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival taking place April 27-30. We will once again offer the events that have become festival staples: Arts & Craft Show, Pancake Dinners, Carnival, Old Car Show, Community Dance, and Tractor Pulls. The Flea Market, an event we introduced last year, will be returning for 2017. A brand-new event we’ve added to the schedule and which will take place on Saturday afternoon is the Demolition Derby. This was very popular during our Party in the Park this past summer, so we’re excited to bring it back to Shepherd for the Festival.
Location: Soccer Field, North Second Street. Entrance off N. Second Street or South Shepherd Road
Dates and Times: April 27, 28 and 29, 2017
Thursday, Friday and Saturday
10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
The flea market will consist of a huge collection of vendors, crafts and distributors of a wide variety of new and used goods, curios and collectibles. There are 30 booths, with no 2 booths offering the same products, so you’ll be sure to find that special treasure or gift. For booth information or an application send email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 989-400-3000. Download application Form
The Festival of Quilts will be held on Saturday, April 29 during the 2017 Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival. Community members can submit their quilts, wall hangings, runners, and/or mini-quilts as entries in the festival. Submitted pieces can be recently completed works by local quilters or cherished family heirlooms. The stories that accompany each quilt are always interesting to read. This will not be a judged show but a sharing of handmade items for the pleasure of all viewers. Do you have an unfinished quilting project?
