Festival Schedule for Friday

The Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival officially kicks off today with a full slate of events. The Flea Market, helicopter rides, and Carnival Rides continue today. In the afternoon, other events like the Pancake Dinners, Bubble Balls, and the Arts & Craft Show will open. Tonight, the day closes with an Emergency Vehicle Parade. Here is a quick run through of today’s activities.


Flea Market Vendors Fair


10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Be sure to browse the wide assortment of vendors on the north end of the town.


Amusement Rides


1 – 10 p.m.

The Carnival rides will be open all day long today. There is a gallery of photos in the Amusement Rides group on Facebook.


Pancake and Sausage Meals


3 p.m. – 7 p.m.

The Pancake and Sausage meals are the can’t miss event of the festival. Everything is made locally especially, of course, the syrup. The cost is $7 for Adults; $3 for children 5-12, and kids under 5 eat for free.

Crafts & Commercial Booths

(16 – 17)

Indoor 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Outdoor 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Stroll by the Art and Craft booths located both outside and inside the Shepherd High School.


Little Red School House Museum


4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

When you enter the Little Red Schoolhouse, it is a little like stepping into a different time. Explore the history of the one room schoolhouse, or peruse the photos showing Shepherd’s history. The Shepherd Area Historical Society recently completed renovations on the building which include a new coat of paint on the outside, new windows, and a new display for class photos.


Sugar Bush Open House/Syrup Sales


4 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Choose from an assortment of syrup based foods inside the Sugar Bush, or learn more about the process of making syrup by participating in a tour.

Lion’s Club Bingo


6 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Parade of Emergency Vehicles



Experience the lights and sounds of this parade as it rolls through town.
