Kathy Edwards, The Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival Parade Grand Marshal

The Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival Committee is pleased to announce that Kathy Edwards has been selected as Grand Marshal of the 2017 Maple Syrup Festival Parade. It will be held Sunday, April 30, at 2:30 pm on the main street (Wright Avenue) of Shepherd. Kathy is a sales representative for Advanced Specialty Rx, a Michigan-based long-term care pharmacy. She is also a realtor for Coldwell Bankers. As a Shepherd High School graduate, Kathy remembers her high school days of serving the pancake and sausage dinners in classrooms all down the Middle School hallway.

Bubble Event Added to Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival Schedule

A new event in which participants battle each other while wearing giant, inflated balls has been added to the Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival schedule this year. Thursday’s location at the soccer field at the North end of town. Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Village Park. $5.00 for 10 minutes Come have some fun! Edit Document

Pull will start at: 10:00 AM

Entry Fee: $20.00 per class

$200.00 for 1st Place

Other positions will also have a payout. Pullers will be able to jump one weight class. Weight classes:

4750 – Limited 18.4 – 6500 open 30.5 – 32

5500 – Limited 18.4 – 7500 open 30.5 – 32

Hitch – 20 inches high, 24 inches back from center of the axle. Will be checked! No popping of concrete.

Pancake Dinners Information

Enjoy a pancake and sausage meal while you are visiting the Village of Shepherd during the festival. Each meal features the chance to taste Shepherd’s own, locally made maple syrup. Pancake and sausage meals are served inside the Shepherd High School cafeteria from Friday until Sunday.
